Mikayla has completed the 3rd grade! Here she is with her two BFF's Casey and Annie. They are happy here but that changed a few days later when they found out they all had different teachers for next year. So sad!!!

Today is my baby's birthday! I can't believe my only child, my baby girl has just turned 9 today. It seems just like yesterday that I was bringing her home from the hospital. I was a week overdue when my doctor decided to do an emergency c-section, he thought she might be too big. What a surprise it was to everyone in the operating room when she came out weighing only 4 lbs 11 oz and was 16 3/4 inches long. Part of my placenta had died and so although she was full term and healthy she wasn't able to gain all the extra weight that babies due in the end of pregnancy. I remember holding her for the first time, she was so tiny! Family use to say she was our miracle baby and I truly believe she is. She is my world and I don't know what I would do without her. Happy birthday Kaykie!

One day last week I came home from work to find Mikayla way up at the top of my parents quaky aspen tree! I somewhat blame this on my dad because if he hadn't last fall chopped down his flowering pear tree, which use to be Mikayla's favorite climbing spot, this wouldn't be an issue. Now I have to worry about her in a much higher, which in turn means much more dangerous tree!

Hawaii is an amazing place and I am having such a great time. We woke up this morning to a beautiful rainbow right outside our balcony. It was gorgeous! This morning was a little cool so we decided to tour a little of the island, we went to the Ritz Carlton where some of the stars stay, although we didn't see any, and then went to Plantation (a golf course) where they have the Mercedez Open. Afterwards we headed back to our cabana for some sunshine and lava flows (a pina colada and strawberry drink), virgin of course. The evening ended with a nice dinner on the beach and a trip to the local Barnes & Noble store. It was a good day.

A day on the beach really builts up an appetite. We got cleaned up and went to a place called Roy's. It was amazing! I was being good and ordered a pear salad, but it all went downhill with dessert, which by the way was delicious! I can't be too hard on myself after all I am on vacation and we did share one.
